SDG AND ARTS: TSUULL HOSTS A WORKSHOP ON HOW TO MAKE COLLAGE ART, 28 SEPTEMBER

We’re committed to continuing our progress to make our activities more sustainable in support of achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Find out more about what we’re currently doing in Ecology and Sustainability here.

TSUULL opens up a dialogue with the Student Community to raise awareness on green issues coming up every day at the place we live, we work and walk.

On 28 September 2023, Ms. Kseniya Gorbacheva, Artist at 139 Documentary Center in Tashkent, delivered a community art workshop for TSUULL students, which took place at TSUULL Campus.

While there is no SDG for arts, culture, or heritage, the underlying SDG targets are full of cultural innovation, artistic values, and protection and promotion of heritage and values commitments. For instance, SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) includes commitments to vibrant arts and cultural life while SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) reminds us of the importance of the cultural industries to fostering a sustainable social and economic life.

During the 90-min workshop, students were guided through a variety of image-making processes and techniques with casual guidance and friendly expertise along the way. They’re fully stocked with a fantastic array of second-hand books, magazines, and other paper treasures for you to explore and cut and paste with. By the end of the class, students took home their collage artworks as well as feeling inspired to continue this creative hobby!

The workshop was committed to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The workshop helped participants learn more about the concept of recycling and its global impact as well as provide information about the Sustainability Program at TSUULL.

Participants learned about the importance of waste reduction and what they can do to help. The workshop challenged students, staff and the community to make a difference in the world by practicing waste recycling.
